How Can dizziness And Headache Along With Neck Pain Be Treated?

I was in the ER over the weekend. I had continued feeling of faint, dizziness, headache and neck pain. They gave me some medication for vertigo. Today, I am still feeling very lightheaded and had some chest pain, sharp pains for about 30 seconds. they did do an ekg and said it was normal. Would an ekg show any indication of potential heart attack?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you are having a history of neck pain you are recommended to get a cervical X-Ray done.

Cervical Spondylosis is commonly associate with cervical vertigo & neck pain. Get physically examined, get MRI scan of the neck, MRA, Vertebral doppler ultrasound tests be done to confirm the diagnosis.

Depending upon the severity of the disease you may be recommenced physiotherapy for a better neck movement, medications to reduce dizziness(Antivert), acetaminophen or tramadol, muscle relaxants like Tizanidine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
